Thermo-auricular therapy

Holistic Treatment - Thermo-auricular Therapy (ear candling)

This treatment consists of a full consultation (for first visit) followed by thermo-auricular therapy, also known as ‘Hopi-ear candling’. This is a pleasant and non-evasive treatment of the ears. It is a safe and simple method of removing excess ear wax, infections and residuals of past ear infections. The ear candle induces a warm feeling in the head and ears which is both soothing and relaxing. This treatment is very relaxing as the client is wrapped in warm blankets throughout the treatment with the therapist with them at all times. This is then followed by a face and head massage, concentrating on draining the sinus and calming the whole head area. The candles are made by hand using the traditional recipe of natural ingredients which have both soothing and healing properties. They are hollow tubes with a flat end, which prevents the candle from going anywhere near the eardrum.

About Thermo-ear Candling

This treatment dates back to Biblical times when hallow reeds from swamps were used as candles. It has been passed down through generations by the American native Indians – namely the Hopi Indians of Arizona (which is where the name Hopi-ear candling comes from), as well as the Egyptians, Africans, Chinese, Tibetan’s and Aztecs. It was used for spiritual rituals to draw out negative energies and to clean out both body and mind. It was also described as ‘coning’, as a cone shaped instrument made of clay was used. The treatment has become popular again over the past 15 years as a holistic treatment inducing relaxation and improving stress, sinusitis and many other problems connected with the ear and ear canal.
